WOAH. Hey everyone.

Big hiatus there but I’m now officially quiet at work, so I’m back!! HoND crew especially, I am SO sorry I’ve been away for such a long time, but I’m so stoked to be back. And hello to all the new kids on the block!

Hope you’ve all been smashing,

L’huere violette.

The warm breeze crept across Esmeralda’s skin as she sat by her favourite oak tree next to the Seine, watching the sun set behind the towers of Notre Dame. This time of night had quickly become her escape from her increasingly busy life. Upon her return to Paris, she had given a lot of thought to who she was, and who she wanted to be; the Esmeralda who lived for adventure, or the Esmeralda who longed for calm. And never the twain shall meet, except for in this single hour in which the sky began its nightly metamorphosis. Leaning her head on the trunk of the tree, she closed her eyes and listened to the sounds of the birds above her.

Like so many people she knew, Esmeralda longed to be as ‘free as a bird’. In many respects, she already was. Her only ties to Paris were her people and Clopin. She could, and as so she had often contemplated doing, up and leave without a second thought had she not been so attached to them. But the freedom she coveted was freedom of another kind. She dreamed of the freedom to make her voice heard, to express her opinions without being shackled and dragged straight to the Minister, to stand with Clopin and lead their people to the rights she knew they deserved. And she would - with or without the help of any member of an authority. Above her, the birds were deconstructing their nests, and a small branch dropped onto her head, disturbing her stream of consciousness. Opening one eye warily, she raised a brow in the direction of the offending bird and laughed. “Oh, Maria, you can’t even let me dream about it for long enough, let alone help me make it happen..”

After rubbing her eyes gently to encourage them open, she was met by the sight she came to see every night; all of Paris was enveloped in a violet glow. Lifting her palms to the sky, she smirked; “And you can’t even give me that colour in silk.. I really am on my own here, huh?”

Ooc: I was on my pandora and it showed a commercial about Internet explorer. It was saying how improved it was. And then it showed a MySpace ad. I just laughed. xD

OOC: XDD IE is actually the worst thing ever. I have problems every time I use it. I need to download something else at work, but they’ve blocked everything. NUUUU. Don’t they know I have DRP to be on!? ;P

ooc: THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME ON MY ARISTA ACCOUNT. I can't send asks ;-;

OOC: OMG. It’s infuriating! I’m at work so I’m using Internet Explorer (sobsob), but at home I use Opera and I never have this problem! Maybe try downloading that if you don’t have it already and see if that makes a difference? But I feel your pain! D;

OOC:

OH MY GOD TUMBLR I JUST WANT TO SEND AN ASK. GEEEEEEEZUS.

Where is the fun in that?  I’ll admit that it can’t be very difficult.  You have always seemed up for a challenge.

Is that not what life about; challenge and adventure? Granted, it’s not much of a challenge to escape you anymore.

Perhaps I’ll have to make it a priority to change that.  We wouldn’t want you to be bored after all…

I’m never bored. I just don’t want you to get arthritic knees - if you haven’t already. I feel it’s my ‘civil duty’, if you will.

I see…  Well, that’s what I have a horse for.

Poor thing.

Well, Minister, as fantastic as this little reunion has been, I do have people who actually like me waiting for me. I’m sure we’ll end up bumping into one another often enough… Bonne nuit…

I don’t recall that he was…  Then again, I was hit numerous times in the face, so I’m afraid that my memory of that moment is all a bit blurry now.

Funnily enough, I wish you a speedy recovery. Where’s the fun in being chased by your goons? I’d much rather out run you.

Oh, he has been.  Except for when he was beating me half to death…  That was only last week, though.  Since I’ve been recovering, I haven’t had the chance to arrest him yet, but I am planning on it.  Is that more honest?

Plenty more.. though, I have no sympathy. For obvious reasons. I don’t condone murder, especially after our little.. incident… but he must have been provoked.

I never did find honesty to be one of your best qualities, but I’m too tired to argue with you despite the fact that I’d really like to. Clopin must’ve been on his best behavior. You usually find the tiniest reasons to send soldiers after him.
